Founded end of 2017, Cyprio is a start-up company born out of ten years of research at ESPCI Paris (member of PSL University) with a strong expertise in the fields of physical chemistry, liver biology and drug screening
This makes Cyprio the holder of a unique technology protected by 4 patents for mammalian cells encapsulation. These 3D cellular models are physiologically more relevant than traditional monolayer models and compatible with high throughput screening applications
Our technology is based on:
A co-extrusion of a specific alginate solution and a cell suspension
A droplet generation system
A hydrogel cross-linking via a bivalent cations bath

Hydrogel shell as a physical barrier protecting a spheroid from the mechanical stresses thus facilitating handling
